The committee of the Society acts as a organising committee for the Symposium. The Finnish Society of Physical Pharmacy is a non-profit, scientific organisation.

23rd Annual Symposium of the Finnish Society of Physical Pharmacy will be organised in the capital area, at the Business Park Spektri, located in Espoo, Finland on February 9th, 2012. The address of the venue is Metsäneidonkuja 10, Espoo, a link to the map. The distance to Helsinki airport is 20 km and driving time approximately 30-40 min. Helsinki city centre is only 10 km away, or 20 mins by car.

The topic of 2011 Symposium is "Peroral and Pulmonary routes: focus on bioavailability" which will by discussed by international and domestic invited speakers. The programme can be found from here: Symposium programme.

The symposium is the traditional main event of the Finnish society of Physical Pharmacy and it will once again gather together about 60-100 professionals and decision makers from varying fields of pharmaceutical science, including academics, industry, research institutions and authorities. The versatile and multidisciplinary symposium audience is bonded by the common interest in the development of pharmaceutics. The books of abstracts, called Polymorfi, e.g. 2011 edition (3.2 MB PDF) from the previous meetings include lists of the participants and their organizations at the back pages.

The speaker should submit a short biography (max half page), preferably with self-portrait attached, to be printed in the book of abstracts 2011. Please send the bio before January 27th, 2012 to the book of abstracts editor-in-chief.

The speakers should produce an abstract of their presentation for the book of abstracts 2010. The abstract should be 1-4 pages preferably written on A4 size paper with a binding margin of at least 1.5 cm. The use of informative pictures, tables and references in the abstract is encouraged. The abstract will be published in the journal Polymorfi 2012 that will be distributed to all symposium attendees at the registration. It will also be made freely available online after the symposium. The abstract should be sent before January 27th, 2012 to the book of abstracts editor-in-chief. Also please see the next section “Presentation file” regarding the option to print the presentation slide handouts in the book of abstracts.

English is the preferred language of the slides. The speaker should also carry the presentation file on a USB memory stick, cd-rom or computer to the symposium venue. Files submitted in advance will be uploaded by the organizers to the presentation computer before the symposium. Files not submitted in advance will be uploaded to the presentation computer before the symposium program starts, or during the breaks.

The longer talks in the morning and afternoon session are 45 minutes (35-40 5-10 minutes for discussion), while the short ones are 30 minutes (25 5 minutes for discussion)  Please check the full program for the exact time reserved for your presentation. The presentation should be given in English (both the talk and the slides).

The symposium will start with the registration and morning coffee at the Business Park Spektri, at 09:00 o'clock. The speakers may enter the symposium venue at 08:00 o'clock with the organizers if they wish to do so. The presentations will be given in the Business Park Spektri auditorium. The Finnish Society of Physical Pharmacy will cover all of the travel expenses of the invited speaker (economy class flight tickets, train, taxi, bus, car, hotel, meals). We do recommend the use of reasonably prized hotels and flights etc. whenever possible. Within the European Union (EU) the preferred method of transferring the travel expense refund to the speaker is SEPA money transfer. The speaker should provide his preferred bank and personal contact details in addition to original receipts with a short statement to the Society's treasurer. The bank details should include the name and address of the speakers bank, account number, IBAN code or bank routing number, as well as BIC or SWIFT code. The Society's treasurer will then wire the refund to the provided bank account. The billing address for the Society:

Speakers outside the EU should agree about transferring the refund separately with the Society’s treasurer. Also, please contact the Society's treasurer (e-mail: martti.kaasalainen@utu.fi, tel. 358 2 333 6977) or chair (contact details below) for any other questions regarding the travelling expenses or refunds.
