The Finnish Society of Physical Pharmacy (official Finnish registered association number 156.745) and its board. The Finnish Society of Physical Pharmacy is a non-profit, scientific association.

22nd Annual Symposium of the Finnish society of Physical Pharmacy will be organised at the Hotel Savonia located in Kuopio, Finland on February 10th, 2010. Kuopio is located in Eastern Finland, approximately 400 km north east from the capital Helsinki and it is the biggest city of Eastern Finland. Kuopio can be reached by domestic flights from Helsinki (connecting flights for Finnair/One World and Blue1/SAS/Star Alliance) and also from Riga via AirBaltic. Flights to Helsinki are operated several times per day. Kuopio can be also naturally reached by train (approx. 4 h from Helsinki) and by car.

Exact location of the Hotel Savonia can been seen here, and the address is Sammakkolammentie 2, Kuopio. The venue is approximately 2 km from the city centre and the railway station and 1 km from the Kuopio campus of the University of Eastern Finland. The distance to airport is 17 km (15 min by taxi). Limited number of parking places available.

Topic of the Symposium 2011 has been selected to be research and development of solid dosage forms, entitled "Development and characterization of solid dosage forms". Symposium program will focus on the development and characterization of tablets, granules and excipients. Symposium speakers include international and domestic experts representing both academia and industry.

The symposium is the traditional main event of the association and it will once again gather together about 60-100 professionals and decision makers from varying fields of pharmaceutical science, including academics, industry, research institutions, pharmacies and authorities. The versatile and multidisciplinary symposium audience is bonded by the common interest in pharmaceutical and biomedical materials research. During the last couple of years the attendance has been 60 to 100. The books of abstracts, e.g. 2009 (8.5MB pdf) and 2010 (9.4MB pdf) from the previous meetings include lists of the participants and their organizations at the back pages.

Please note! Preliminary sketch of the programme! Speakers will be updated soon. One or two speakers will international, rest of speakers are Finnish

Each of the sponsor packages include at least one black-and-white page inside the book of abstracts 2011. We wish that the material provided by the customer would be fully finalized in the form they want it to be reproduced in the book of abstracts, e.g. a single PDF, TIFF, JPG file etc. The advert should fit nicely on a size A4 page (minus the left marginal of 1.5 centimeters). Please send the material for the advert(s) to the editor-in-chief of the Polymorfi journal, preferably in electronic format. We do also accept hardcopies, in which case the material will be scanned to an image file. The deadline for providing the materials for the adverts is January 21st, 2011.

You can start putting up the exhibitions at 08:00 o'clock in the morning, or the day before based on a separate agreement with the organizers. We hope that the exhibitions would be up and running by the time the official program of the symposium starts, i.e. 9:00. The primary exhibit space is the next to the auditorium of Hotel Savonia. The exact spot for the stands or tables will not be separately pointed out by the organizers, but the exhibitors may choose the spot they see fit within the exhibit space. The exhibit space has tables, chairs, electric outlets and wlan for the exhibitors to use. The exhibit space does not have movable walls, stands, floors etc., however the exhibitor may bring their own to the venue if they wish. We recommend you bring your own "rollup" poster stands and/or leaflet stands for any promotional posters, although you may also put up posters on the walls of the venue using sticky tape. The promotional posters may also be put up in the walls of the auditorium or near or even on the main podium (space for approx 1x1 meter poster). The most visible spot (the podium) is reserved for the sponsor with Package A, however if this spot is not used the sponsor with Package B can use it, then Package C, etc. The organizers will gladly provide you with more information about the exhibitions if required.

The exhibitions should be taken down before the dinner at 18:00 o'clock. The program at the auditorium will end approx. 17:30 after the annual meeting of the Society. After this the attendees will gather to the restaurant at the main building of Old Mill for the symposium dinner at 18:00. The exhibits can also be taken down the next day, if so agreed with the organizers. The organizers will gladly provide you with more information about the exhibitions if required.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner in addition to the scheduled coffee breaks are included in the symposium fees and are naturally complimentary to the exhibitors. The organizers should be informed about any special diets few weeks in advance of the symposium.

Any accommodation required by the itinerary should be arranged by the symposium attendees themselves. Hotel Savonia is a good alternative for accommodation but there are also other hotels located at the Kuopio centre.

We'll gladly answer any enquiries regarding the symposium or the Society. Please contact the organizers at the details below. We look forward to hearing from you and welcome you to Kuopio in February 2011!
